You can send NumberLink messages from any client device as long as it meets these requirements:
- You'll need to have the NumberLink app installed to compose and send messages.
- The device will need mobile data or wifi access.
Client devices (Using the NumberLink app)
- Open the NumberLink app.
- Open an existing conversation or press New conversation and enter the number of the contact you wish to message.
- Type your message in the text field.
- Tap Send button.

- At the home screen of your phone, type the name or number of the contact you want to send the message to.
- Scroll down to the corresponding search result and press the Message button on your phone's keypad.
- Choose "Yes" when you see the prompt to send as a NumberLink Message.
- The phone will open a conversation with this contact. If there is an existing conversation, you'll see a Butterfly indicator at the top of the conversation that verifies it will use NumberLink to send the message.
- Type your message and press the green button on the keypad to send it.
- Your text message will be routed through NumberLink and sent by your host phone.
- If your message was successfully sent, you see it switch to showing "Now".
Android Smartphone (Using the NumberLink Messaging and NumberLink Host app)
- Open the NumberLink Messaging app.
- Press the Message button in the bottom right corner.
- Choose "Yes" when you see the prompt to create a NumberLink Message.
- Enter the number or name of the contact in the "To" input field at the top.
- Type your message and press the arrow button to send it.
- If your message was successfully sent, you will see it switch to showing "Now".
Important Notes:
- NumberLink should not be used to contact emergency services. Always contact emergency services directly.
- The device must have an active data connection to send and receive messages.
- The sent status will be synced to the NumberLink app after the host device sends the message - you will see a longer delay than if the message was sent directly.
- Messages are sent using your shared NumberLink number, not the client device's own number.
- Replies will appear in the NumberLink app on all devices connected to your NumberLink account.
