How to add custom ringtones or notification sounds

Modified on Wed, Nov 22, 2023 at 1:13 PM

  1. Transfer the desired sound file as an mp3 file to a microSD card.
  2. Place the microSD card in the phone and navigate to Files in the menu options.
  3. When you open Files, you should see two options. The first will be labeled internal shared storage, the second should identify itself as your microSD card.
  4. Open the files on the MicroSD card and search for the mp3 file(s) you would like to use in your phone.
  5. Long-press the selected sound file(s).
  6. Select the three vertical dots in the upper right corner of the screen to access the drop-down options menu.
  7. Select the Copy option.
  8. Use the back-arrow key to return to the screen where you again see Internal shared storage displayed. Open Internal shared storage and select either the Alarms, Notifications, or Ringtones folder.
  9. Again, use the three vertical dots in the upper right corner of the screen to access the drop-down menu options and “paste” the sound file into the desired folder.
  10. The sound file is now present in the Internal shared storage of the device and is accessible for selection and use as a Ringtone, Alarm, or Notification sound depending on which file folder(s) contain the new mp3 file.
