Fix problems with MMS (Picture messaging)

Modified on Wed, Nov 22, 2023 at 12:38 PM

If you are unable to send/receive picture messages or group messages, please make sure the correct APN is selected for your carrier. Resellers (MVNOs) of cellular service typically have different network settings than if the service plan is directly from Verizon, T-Mobile or AT&T.

1. Check the APN settings here: System > Settings > Connectivity > Mobile network > access point names > and choose the correct APN for your cellular carrier by selecting the circle beside it. A blue-green dot will fill the APN that is active. You will then need to turn the phone off and back on to connect with the new APN settings.

2. If your phone still does not have service, you may need to reset the network settings: System > Settings > Phone Settings  >BasicOS > Reset options > reset Wi-Fi, mobile and Bluetooth > press reset settings on the next 2 screens.

3. Make sure your phone has the latest updates installed, then open System > Settings > Connectivity > Mobile network > access point names > press the "Menu" button on your phone keypad and choose "Reset to default" to pull in the latest APN settings available for your sim card.

4. Finally, some carriers require the cellular plan to include a small amount of data to be able to send MMS messages.
