If your phone screen is broken, it may still be possible to retrieve your data if your phone is otherwise functioning properly. Both of these methods are only available on phones with the latest software updates installed.
Using a computer and a USB data transfer cable
Plug the phone into the computer and press *file* (*3453*) on the phone to enable file transfer. You can then copy the contacts backup folder and other files such as pictures that are on the internal storage to your computer.
Using a microSD card and the backup tool
1. Insert a 32GB or smaller SD card.
Using the copy to SD card option
Insert a 32GB or smaller SD card.
Press *export* (*397678*) at the home screen to start the export. Wait until you hear a notification sound or see the completed notification, this may take a few minutes. This will copy the following folders from your phone's internal storage to an SD card:
backups
DCIM
Music
Pictures
Sound Recorder
The backups folder contains the contacts, notes, and calendar backups from the internal storage. If enabled, the contacts will backup weekly, while the calendar and notes have a daily backup. The export option is typically much faster but may not contain the most recent data depending on when your phone last backed up to internal storage.
