NumberLink should work nearly instantly if both devices have a good data connection. However, some devices try to aggressively save battery by limiting how often services can perform actions in the background. This is a more common occurrence on budget devices.
Here are some general suggestions that should work for most Android devices:
1. Make sure battery optimization is set to "Unrestricted" or "Not optimized" for the NumberLink app.
2. Turn off Battery Saver, if enabled.
3. Turn off Battery Manager, if enabled.
